Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of City Theatre Company.
The Company strives to put on at least one big musical production each year, as well as concerts and plays. We also have a variety of social/fundraising events during the year, which members are asked to support. Application for membership is invited from anyone interested in any aspect of Theatre, whether on stage, or as one of the essential back-stage team.
Acting membership is by audition only. The audition consists of a song of your own choice (please provide music for our pianist to accompany you) and a piece of dialogue (also your own choice) about 2-3 minutes in length. Please supply a script if you need someone to read in a part. Both audition pieces should be from memory and of performance standard. You will also be shown a piece of movement to perform. You should bring suitable footwear with you. If you are a dancer, you may wish to bring a tape recorder and perform to a tape.
Please note that success in a New Members audition does not necessarily guarantee a part in each show.
Rehearsals are on Monday and Thursday evenings, at Cottesmore School, in Hove, with an occasional Sunday just prior to a production.
The subscription fee is just £15 per annum, with a reduction for students and seniors. Members must be 15 years and over.
